Fall of 2008 NIKERA CLOTHING was born and her military career ended after 9 years of service. "I felt like a bird that needed to be set free.” " I loved the experience and discipline I gained from the military, but it was time tomove on to what I was put on this earth to do". "The idea to create a clothing line came from constant boredom with the choices of fabrics and patterns within the ready-to-wear departments.” With the current lack of enthusiasm within the fashion world, she created a line of her own NIKERA, which stands for "Nikki's Era”. She was inspired by designers such as Christian Dior, StellaMcCartney, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, and Project Runway's Michael Knight. Her mission? To bring class and sophistication back to the streets of America. I love that feeling of exclusiveness, and I wanted to recreate that feeling in my clothing line". Her spring 2010 collection consists of 1950 inspired A-Line dresses. Each collection will be playfully and tastefully experimenting with bright colors, fabrics, and prints that are carefully chosen by her. This unique designer creates each collection out of pure love and admiration of her trade. The future for NIKERA is a Men's line that will consist of signature denim, tees, custom blazers, and suits. |
